Offering Prayer Answered
I love our tithe prayer and hearing all the testimonies that stem from it. I thought I'd share one of my own with you. I love how God can surprise you with more when you think you have more than enough already. So, financially, Matt and I have been doing awesome since I finally got hired as an RN back in February. Praise Jesus for that! Our debt is decreasing rapidly now, which to me, is a huge blessing on its own. However, apparently there was more to come. After several meetings at work, on my way out, I stopped to see my boss.
She saw me, her eyes lit up, and she said, "Guess what you get?!?!" Having no idea what she was referring to, I replied "I don't know. What?" Without hesitation, right there in the nurses station, she says, "You get $2000 because your friend is going to start working here and she said you told her about the position." I guess that falls into both the bonuses and surprises categories of our tithe prayer. What I've learned is that no matter how much you have and find contentment with, God always has more! Lisa

Tangible Presence of God
Mike and I volunteered to help with the parenting class at the YMCA, which was not preplanned. Our Sunday plans got changed Saturday and we both felt a tug as Ben asked for volunteers from the pulpit. We showed up and got assigned to the walkers to 5 year old group. We were told of a 3 year old "screamer" from the week before. This little one had never been left with anyone before the first week…and the trauma was evident in her cries. As I embraced her, I felt the presence of the peace of God being released from me to her as she cried…I want my daddy. The unseen exchange that took place here impacted me all week. When I faced several challenges this week and felt distant from my Heavenly Father…I found this cry arise in me…I want my daddy! I want my daddy!
I realized it is a natural cry from a daughter who knows the safety and love of her father when she is placed in new or uncomfortable situations. May I never be too grown up to cry…I want my Daddy…my Heavenly Daddy who never allows me to be placed in situations where he is not too far away to snatch me. I could feel the tangible presence of the love of God being released from our team of volunteers. As we were leaving, 3 of these little ones came running up to me to hug me and thank me. I realized the privilege we had to impact the community. How do you describe a mother or father's look when their little one runs to this once stranger for a hug? There is a huge Heavenly exchange taking place in our community on these Sunday evenings…what a privilege to be a part of this exchange! Blessings, Connie

What A Blessing
The first thing is my doctors told me that I couldn't get pregnant. Ha! They were wrong. When we found out that we were expecting it was just such a shock and we were totally unprepared. Fred was laid off in the union and I didn't have insurance with my job yet. Everybody was concerned about the pregnancy because we were having complications in the first trimester. When we started coming to Bethel everybody was so supportive of us and helped us pray for a good job and a healthy pregnancy. Fred eventually got a job that was supposed to be only for the summer and we were very grateful, but still worried about how everything was going to turn out. So we just kept praying and I am happy to report that Fred now has a full time permanent job with insurance, I have insurance through my work that has covered the cost of almost everything and we are expecting a healthy baby girl. We would really like to thank everyone who kept us in their thoughts and I feel like we have really found a home in this church. Love you guys! Nici & Fred

Visit from Japan and your prayer
My family and I were blessed to fellowship with you on Sunday. We were the family passing through, who are missionaries in Japan. You had a word of knowledge about a heart murmur and prayed for my 17 year old daughter who just recovered from a staph infection in her heart, which damaged it. I told you I would let you know what we found when we went for our previously scheduled doctor visit and heart check. My daughter is doing well and seems healthy, but the echocardiogram showed that she still has a heart murmur. However, it is such a small murmur at this point that it can't be heard through a regular stethoscope. We continue to praise God for his blessings on us. Yours in Christ, Dan

Amazing things at SuperChurch
Over the summer a 3rd grade boy at Shelby's school lost his dad and is still having a really hard time, just very sad all the time. The Principal felt very strongly that she should share with all the children at Chapel about this boys sadness and asked 3 children to come up and lay hands and pray aloud. Apparently Shelby was the 2nd child to rise and go forward with 2 other young boys and without hesitating at all started praying for this young boy. The Principal later shared with me how beautiful the prayers of these 3 children were and how moved she was that they had no reservations about it, it seemed like second nature to them. Danny Silk has said we are not living in a Culture of Honor until we see it in our children and I am so blessed to say its happening. Last Sunday morning one of the boys in SuperChurch, Devon, had a stomach ache, in the middle of SuperChurch we asked the kids to pray for his healing and more than half the kids jumped up and laid hands on Devon. Amazing things are happening in SuperChurch, the spirit is alive and moving in our children and it's so EXCITING! Love, Shelly

A God Story from Charity
Almost a year ago a leak started in our roof. Being that my husband just finished nursing school, I just started school back up again, and that we have four growing boys to feed, we are BROKE!! So we placed a bucket under the drip. The drip got larger and larger. Last year my father-in-law suggested we call the insurance company and ask if this would be covered
under our policy. An adjustor came out and said no because the shingles were too old. Then a month later the insurance company called and said they were sending out an engineer to assess the damages. He also came with bad news, that the roof was built wrong and the heat was being trapped in the attic; once again the claim was denied. At this time my husband decided we were going to Louisiana to help Cheryl and her fine group to rebuild Katrina victim's houses. I fought him. I could not understand how we could help other people rebuild their houses, when our roof was going to cave in at any moment. WOW was God moving. God was moving in our lives and we were not even aware of it. My husband and I, broke as can be, were able to take time off work (unexpectedly paid for), and we were able to raise money so that we were able to make the trip. That was a great trip!
Two months ago I received an email from the insurance adjustor, they decided (out of the blue) to give us over $15,000!! Hallelujah!! The insurance company claimed that the money was to be used for new siding, because our old siding had hail damage. We now have money left over to do the roof. Yes, the bucket that catches the rain water can be put back in the garage. God has provided once again. I give Him all the glory. I truly cannot fathom any other reason the money would just come through for us. Love, Charity

God's Goodness
I wanted to share with you about God meeting all of our needs. God just amazes me! He is so wonderful, loving and generous! So, I've been having some health issues involving my heart. The doctor ordered a ton of tests, but the main one was $5,700. I was shocked. My portion would be around $3,000 so I cancelled the test, to my doctor's dismay. Well, I was going through my "junk" mail from the past 2 weeks and there was a letter from the "Healthy Women Group of Porter Co." It was an offer for the 1st 100 responders for a complete cardio workup, FOR FREE, including the test my doctor wanted. With only 4 days until the event, I was able to get an appointment. I was one of the last ones! PRAISE GOD!! HE is so MIGHTY!! P.S. I totally expect to be writing you that I am 100% healthy. Amen!

Good News
I received an offer on my house for more than I was going to ask in my reduced price! Of course I accepted! It was very strategic and so clearly God. I am thrilled. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Garner and the others who have stood with me in prayer. Ruth

Blessings from KinderChurch
I wanted to share with you the effectiveness we are seeing from what the little ones are getting out of Kinderchurch. One unusual night, when Cosette woke crying out from a bad dream, I went to comfort her, but couldn't wake her from it easily. She kept on crying and saying, "I don't LIKE this video!" I told her we would pray for the Holy Spirit to come and fill her mind and spirit; so as I laid her down again, I started praying, "Holy Spirit, would you come and bring your love, and…" Before I could say any more, she, with her eyes closed, and her body beginning to relax, took over the prayer with happy mumbling of "love-joy-peace-patience-kindness-goodness-faithfulness-gen'elness-and-self control"…and fell immediately into a peaceful deep sleep, not to wake again until morning. I, of course, couldn't wait to tell Chelsey the fruit of all the weeks spent in Kinderchurch learning and understanding the fruit of the Spirit out of Galations or, 'Falations', as Cosette would say. Love, Carolea

Testimony and Revelation
I wanted to share something encouraging with you. I suspected that when I found the right home church the heavens would open and I would hear the angels singing…OK, not literally, but that I would know it. Behold the power of coming under cover where God wants you and planting financial seeds in the kingdom. I have been job hunting since January 2008. I had to finally quit my job in June without having found a new position. I am in the eleventh hour facing foreclosure and running out of savings. I had a job interview at a place that was five minutes from my house and ten minutes after I left, they were calling me for a second interview to discuss wages and my availability. The job I thought I was interviewing for was a part time "filler" position, but they said they were interested in grooming me to manage three locations.
Then I get an email for another income opportunity. I sent my resume in as an office administrator, but they saw my massage therapy background and want me to come do onsite massage therapy for $75/hour. Plus I have been waiting on two checks to come in the mail, one for $900 and one for $1000. I received a call and told both are on their way. Now, I've been going to an amazing church. I have been sowing there and trying to make it my home. But I didn't see any of these blessings that I'm seeing until after just three weeks at Bethel. Ya think maybe the heavens opened and the angels are singing? Blessings, Kim

SuperChurch
Today one of the parents told me that they could not be at church last Sunday due to a family get together. Well, their child made sure that they knew he was not happy that he was not going to be able to come to "Superchurch". She said that they felt so bad that he wasn't able to be here last week. I told her how wonderful it is to hear that our children are so desiring to be in church. I also had a student come today who has not been to church in awhile, and the mom told me that he got up this morning and told her that they were coming to church today and that he didn't want to hear any more excuses on why they couldn't come. So praise God, the children are falling more in love with Him. Love, Paula

Another Salvation
During the Live Recovery meeting Monday night, Shane gave his will and his life over to Christ and asked the Spirit to clean him up!!! On Sunday he came to Bethel and met you (Pastor Garner). You may have already heard about this exciting event from other sources, but here is another witnesses' report and confirmation of what can happen when those who have addictions and compulsions that they are powerless to change, meet the all Powerful One and find what they were always looking for. Praise Him!! Arlen
